What is PMBOK?
The framework from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is called “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge” – abbreviated as PMBOK.
The “Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge” has been published since 1986 and has undergone seven editions, with changes and additions made in each.
The PMBOK Guide has been recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). It is the American national standard for project management, encompassing a body of professional knowledge that enables successful achievement of goals in project implementation across various fields.
In 2012, the project management processes outlined in the PMBOK® Guide 4th edition were adapted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance with the ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 standard.
